Church gives helping hand

The Revival for All Nations Christian Church in Soshanguve extension 4 donated clothes on Saturday to the poor and orphans.
The church was doing this in line with celebration of the Mandela month.
One of the church members and co- ordinator of the project, Ivy Mhlanga said the main aim is to reach out to those in need. “Our objective is to share with others and love them as we love ourselves, that’s what we encourage among our members” she said.
Mrs. Mhlanga also explained that the church should serve as a place of safety in the community. People should be uplifted and that is where people should be loved and experience God’s love.
This church has been a part of this community for the past thirteen years, and it knows its surrounding neighbours that are in need and it made it its responsibility to help the people in any way it can. One of the community members, Mrs. Esther Kekana was also pleased about what the church has done for the community “I am really happy about what the church has done for us, this shows that they care about us, and they practice what they preach,” Esther said
Makie Nyoni was also excited about the gifts “I feel so special and blessed with what the church has done for us today. This is really uplifting and it shows that they love and care about us and that for me is a blessing.” Makie said

Members of the Mabopane community, playing their part in 67 minutes.
Residents of ward (21) twenty one in Mabopane honoured the former state president Mr. Nelson Mandela by playing their part, in contributing their (67) sixty-seven minutes to the community.

The programme started early in the morning with an exercise at the community sports place for the elders.  Then they took the older ranging from (80) eighty years and above and gave them tokens of appreciation and thanked God for sustaining them.
Then it was time for the real work, the community members identified a dilapidated house in the community, even though they couldn’t provide him with electricity and water but his yard and house were clean. While the other group was in Boukenhout Clinic, at the block B clinic (Tlamelong Clinic). The owner of the house, Mr. Amos Morathi was really grateful for the help of the community. “I am really humbled with what this community has done for me, and may I not be the last. I hope they continue with the good work that they are doing.” He said
All of this good and hard work was led by ward 21 councillor, Mr. Joel Sindane who is known to lead by example in his ward “Serving your community is a calling, you must be prepared to forget about your problems and put your community first and be prepared to work an extra mile.” He said

Mr. Morathi was also a victim of house breaking, and assault and his cases dated back to 2006, and had case numbers as evidence that he did open the cases, but until today no justice was done. And the Communications Officer from the Mabopane police station, Lieutenant Dikatso Thebe confirmed they know about the cases. “Mr. Morathi’s cases are still under investigation until further notice; it’s not easy because we don’t have enough evidence or any witnesses, but we promise we are going to do everything we can solve this case because it has been going on for a long time.” She said

MUSIC LISTENING SESSION

Walk by Faith group members
The Walking by Faith group and the Mazi Productions hosted the Music listening session in Soshanguve block G, on the 15th of July 2012 to showcase the up and coming artist Nyembezi Mahlangu and her group. The music listening session was Just to give the community a taste of what to expect from the group.
The group was started on the 15th of March this year, by Oupa Nkosi from Soshanguve after he realised that the youth from Soshanguve have a lot of talent but they don’t get exposure.  So he started this group with the aim of empowering the youth, and help them realise their talents “We want to plant the seed of hope within our youth and we hope to create a musical kingdom within Soshanguve, and above all help our youth to realise their dreams.” He said
The Community members came in numbers to support local talent and show their support, one of them is Mr. Brian Mokone, who is a close neighbour but never knew what was going on in the garage until yesterday “I have always heard the noises  in the garage, but never knew what was going on. Until today, I am really proud of the group, and I wish them all the best in their music career.” He said
One of the people who attended the session is Ntombi Gama, and she was happy about the performance “I am really honoured to be part of the audience because the group did their session here at home, this shows that they value and respect us as their supporters and I think this strategy is going to work well for them.” She said
