Opinion Piece about: Introduction to New Media

                                       Twenty Key New Media Concepts.

According to http://www.iwebtool.com/what_is_media.html Media refers to refers to various means of communication. For example, television, radio, and the newspaper are different types of media.
Media has always served great resonance in the lives of all South Africans, and the world at large. With the great improvement of (ICT) Information Communication and Technology media, has also been pushed or once can say it is forced to adapt to the changes and introduce new and up to date media.
The chapter of New Media is very interesting, the first paragraph elaborates on the term “New Media” and the fact that the media that is called “Old”, was once “New”. This statement just shows that nothing, even status do not last forever, people can be impressed and like your product now, but five (5) years down the line your product is most likely to be over powered by competitors or found useless, by the same people who said your product is the best.
This Chapter also explains the history of the Internet, when were the first browse was invented/created, the ARPERA of 1969 and when the world’s first email was send, that was in 1972. The chapter also has shown that show, how many people use and have access to the internet.
The Chapter of Twenty Keys to New Media Concepts is a very interesting chapter. The chapter explores these concepts, there’s concepts such as collective intelligence, which is being referred to as the capacity of networked (ICT’s) Information Communication Network, to exponentially enhance the pool of knowledge. The other concept is Convergence, were all the C’s of Information Technology come together. These concepts complement each other, and when brought together, they produce something new which in this context is the “New Media”.
